The Small Print
Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the little we need, we keep it to ourselves, and there are no trackers here.
Who we are
Saigon Malta operates the restaurants at Gżira, Birkirkara and Malta International Airport, and this website, saigonmalta.com. For anything about your data, write to hello@saigonmalta.com.
What we collect, and why
Welcome offer. If you request a welcome discount code we store your email address, your chosen channel and the code we issued, so the code stays one-per-guest and we can send you occasional news from Saigon. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to us.
Private events & enquiries. If you send an enquiry we store the details you give us (name, contact, date, party size, message) so we can reply. Marketing consent is a separate, unticked checkbox — sending an enquiry never signs you up to anything.
Site analytics. We measure visits ourselves with an anonymous first-party cookie. It contains a random identifier, not your name, email or anything that identifies you. We record which pages are viewed and nothing else, and that data never leaves our own database.
Google, Meta and Mailchimp cookies — only if you say yes. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, we may use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads to measure our advertising, and Mailchimp’s site script connects visits to the newsletters we send. Nothing here identifies you unless you accept the cookie banner.
Until you accept, Google’s tag runs in its consent-denied mode: it sets no cookies and sends no advertising or device identifiers, only an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, which Google uses to estimate overall visitor numbers. Meta and Mailchimp are not loaded at all — not a single byte, now or later, unless you say yes. If you decline, that is where it stays permanently.
If you accept, these companies may set identifying cookies and record the pages you visit and actions like joining our mailing list; email addresses are shared only in irreversibly hashed form. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser. None of this runs on our staff-only pages.
Ordering and reservations
Online ordering and table reservations run on our ordering partner Celery (saigon.celeryhq.eu). When you order or book you leave this website, and the data you enter there is handled under Celery’s own privacy policy.
Who we share data with
Emails (your discount code, replies to enquiries) are delivered through Resend, our email provider. If you join our mailing list, your details sync to Mailchimp, which sends our newsletters — and leaves your inbox alone the moment you unsubscribe. Meta and Google receive data only with your cookie consent, as above. We do not sell your details, ever.
How long we keep it
Discount-code records are kept while the offer programme runs. Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle your event and our bookkeeping. Anonymous page-view counts are kept as statistics.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw marketing consent at any time — one email to hello@saigonmalta.com does it. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Malta.
